2019- A Look Back on an Incredible Year for A Ray of Hope Support Network-

What an incredible 2nd year for our organization! God has blessed us with so many incredible gifts and opportunities and I wanted to take time to reflect on just what God has done for our organization over 2019!

Spring 2019

Our Founder and Board Director was asked to speak this past April, at seminar hosted by Bright Thread Ministries called “Let ALL the Children Come”. This seminar provides education and training for church teachers and leaders on how to include special need families in their congregations. We were honored to be asked to speak out on the importance of finding support on the journey of raising a child with special needs and how churches can provide different ways to support the families raising a child with special needs.

Summer 2019

In June, our organization was awarded their 1st grant from Sisterhood for Good! This $2000.00 grant would be used to create and launch our new Restoration Respite Program (R &R Program) to provide respite opportunities for special need parents and/or siblings; an opportunity to have a few hours off to be filled with rest, refreshment and restoration to continue the job of raising their very special gift from God from a place of rest. We are so grateful to be 1 of 11 local not-for-profits chosen to receive this grant close to 500 families each week with our weekly emails as well as our online this year!

Fall 2019

We launched our R & R program which to date has allowed (4) families an opportunity to attend 2 Christian concerts, a sunset cruise and a night at the Sarasota Ballet’s Nutcracker! These families reported before the event feeling stressed and overwhelmed and returning feeling rested and refreshed!

Over the last year, A Ray of Hope has written a Bible Study called “Hope on the Journey” to be used in the different support groups and we received our Certificate of Registration from the Library of Congress that our work has been copyrighted! We are looking forward to having our work printed and available to the public in 2020 along with other written material to be used by special need families and support groups! Our organization is touching the community!

Our weekly moms support group meeting has 4-6 moms who meet each week and this fall we have had 6-7 new moms join our group to receive support, resources and the HOPE of God on their journey of raising a child with special needs! Our online community has grown to over 450 members! Our organization was proud to be a part of quite a few local events where families could learn about the different resources available in our community! We wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to every person who has donated to our organization this year! Please know we are stewarding your donations well to continue to look for ways to bring support, resources and HOPE to special need families!

2020 is looking bright for A Ray of Hope Support Network!

We look forward for everything God has for us as we continue to share HIS HOPE with special need families in whatever way we can!
